Position Details

Department: ICE | MUSL | TOSH Sterile Processing

Summary of Job Duties

This position will fill multiple roles for Evening Shifts (1:30 pm to 10:00 pm). The Sterile Processing Technician is vital for providing optimal outcomes at the Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital (TOSH). Responsibilities include decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, testing, and transporting medical instruments and materials, as well as maintaining records and ensuring proper sterilization procedures.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to follow oral instructions, read, write, and basic computer skills (Word/Excel)
  • Good communication skills
Preferred Experience
  • Two years of SPD leadership or surgical technical experience (preferred)
  • Certification: IAHCSMM/CBSPD Certified (CRCST/CIS)
  • Experience in Sterile Processing
Additional Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and assemble medical instruments
  • Package, inspect, test, and store instruments
  • Use sterilizing equipment and perform biological tests
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate professionally
  • Serve the OR's sterile instrument needs with urgency
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Constant physical activities: feeling, hearing, standing, sitting, walking, talking, tasting, smelling, reading, concentrating
  • Frequent physical activities: repetitive motion
  • Occasional physical activities: crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing
  • Environment: Inside medical facility, loud noise, biological/chemical/electrical/radiation hazards, near visual acuity
Salary and Application Documents

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Required documents include three professional references and a resume. Optional documents include licenses/certificates and proof of veteran status.
