Job summary

Vivex Biologics in Miami, FL seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare, pack, and wrap instruments and equipment for sterilization, ensuring sterility and timely readiness for use. You will organize workload, perform washing, disinfection, and autoclaving, maintain accurate records for audits, and ensure proper placement of packs and trays.

Qualifications

High School diploma and 1-2 years Sterile Processing or hospital environment experience.
Experience with sterilization procedures and equipment handling.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.

Responsibilities

Responsible for organizing and scheduling sterile processing workload and ensuring proper washing, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.
Accurate record keeping; all documentation reviewed, signed off, and audit-ready.
Prepare instrument packs and place surgical instruments on trays; determine ethylene oxide vs. steam sterilization.
Manage flow of instruments, materials, and services in processing and recovery.
Assist department head with controls, decontamination, autoclaving, and distribution of packs.
Monitor inventory daily and request supplies as needed.
Maintain autoclaves and carts; ensure cleanliness of stainless steel components.
Perform biological monitoring of sterilization cycles and recall dating per shelf life.
Perform other duties as assigned
