Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a CRCST-certified professional to join the Central Sterile Processing Department. The role supports decontamination, prep and pack, and sterilization documentation to ensure patient safety and product integrity.

As part of the CSPD, you will train staff, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with surgical services. This is a full-time position with daytime schedule and competitive hospital benefits.

Competenze

• CRCST certification is required.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Supervisory experience not required.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. Barnes-Jewish West County Central Sterile Processing Department provides a service that is an integral part of the quality of care that we provide for our patients. We ensure the integrity and sterility of our products and services for our customers. We control all parts of the sterilization process: decontamination, prep & pack, documentation of sterilization records, and sterile storage.

Role Purpose

Assists the supervisor in providing quality, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution services. Trains and directs CSPD staff, problem solves equipment failures and functions as a charge person in the absence of the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
• Serves as the primary coordinator between surgical services and central supply sterile processing department in assigned clinical service area.
• Provides training and guidance to staff.
