Summary
Responsible for performing advanced tasks in the sterile processing department within a healthcare facility.

Essential Functions
  1. Receive and process used medical instruments and equipment from operating rooms and other departments.
  2. Load instruments and equipment into sterilizers, adhering to prescribed loading patterns and protocols.
  3. Perform regular quality checks to ensure instruments, equipment, and packaging materials comply with sterilization standards.
  4. Manage inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and restocking sterile supplies.
  5. Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and instruments.
  6. Provide guidance and training to less experienced sterile processing technicians.
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials

Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred.

Experience

Experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting. 1-2 years preferred.
