Qualifications

• Must have CRCST certification.
• One year of MWHC SPD experience or two years external SPD I-level.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Processing Technician training preferred.
• Strong instrument identification and advanced set assembly.
• Organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills; experience with instrument tracking systems preferred.
• Ability to operate automated equipment in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QA, safety, infection control standards.
• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, and assemble instruments and devices.
• Package and wrap instruments to maintain sterility.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment (steam, low-temp, ETO, washers).
• Test sterilization cycles and document results.
• Assemble complex trays, sets, code carts, and case carts.
• Identify and handle specialized instrumentation.
• Store and rotate supplies and instrument trays.
• Maintain records for loads and inventory.
• Deliver patient care equipment to units promptly.
• Follow infection prevention practices and safety guidelines.
• Support accurate assembly and report discrepancies.
• Assist in resolving workflow/equipment issues related to sterility.
• Provide training support to new technicians.
• Participate in education programs and process improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
