Job summary

Mayo Career Site UK is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician in Jacksonville, FL to support the operating room team by cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and storing instrument sets in the sterile core.

You'll work under CSPD leadership, ensuring decontamination, quality assurance, and adherence to Joint Commission, AAMI, OSHA, HIPAA, and other standards for patient safety and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced, multistep processes to support the OR team.
• Clean, package, and re-process reusable surgical equipment per guidelines.
• Maintain inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Support sterile core activities to meet surgical team needs.
• Includes decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and quality testing.
• Work in compliance with Joint Commission, AAMI, OSHA, HIPAA, and others.

Job description

Receives direction from the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) Leadership Team including Team Leaders, Educator, Supervisors, and Manager. Works in collaboration with the operating room team and/or other allied health staff.

• Responsible for performing advanced, complex, multistep processes and delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient and various procedural areas within the hospital.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes; per manufacturer's guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
• Responsibilities include: decontamination, assembly, sterilization, quality assurance testing, and storage.
• Central Service technicians work in compliance with best practices and standards established by: The Joint Commission, AAMI, HSPA, AORN, OSHA, DOT, WHO, FDA, EPA, and HIPAA.
