Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our onsite team at 52 Second Avenue. You will clean, disinfect, sterilize, inspect, and manage surgical instruments to ensure safety for patient procedures. This role offers a 11:00am–7:30pm schedule, competitive benefits, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.

CRCST certification and healthcare experience are preferred. You will receive training and guidance from experienced technicians in a mission-driven hospital

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the department to focus on cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, inspecting, and managing surgical instruments and medical equipment so they are safe for patient procedures. Although the role supports patient care indirectly, it does not involve direct patient contact.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 7:30pm

Summary: Responsible for performing advanced tasks in the sterile processing department of a healthcare facility. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions:

Receive used medical instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments.

Load prepared instruments and equipment into sterilizers, following prescribed loading patterns and protocols.

Conduct regular quality checks of instruments, equipment, and packaging materials to ensure compliance with sterilization standards.

Assist with managing inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and restocking sterile supplies.

Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and instrumentation.

Provide guidance and training to less experienced sterile processing technicians.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required

Experience: Experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of sterile processing principles, practices, and infection control standards.
• Familiarity with medical instruments, equipment, and surgical procedures.
