Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Sterile Processing (SPD) Tech at Jewish Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY. The SPD Tech plays a key role in delivering sterile instrumentation to the OR, ensuring instruments are clean, functional, and ready for procedures in a fast-paced health system.

Responsibilities include decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, dispatch, and adherence to AAMI, AORN, and CDC guidelines. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; certification within 12 months is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• 1 year of healthcare experience (preferred).
• Nationally recognized Sterile Processing certification within 12 months of hire (required).

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prep and pack, sterilize, and dispatch surgical instruments.
• Deliver case carts and maintain inventory for Surgery Department.
• Operate SPD processing equipment and monitor sterilization processes.
