Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician at the St. George Regional Hospital in Utah. The role supports decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and inventory across multiple levels, with potential to progress to Level 3.

Training toward HSPA certification is provided and required within a year. The position offers hourly compensation with structure by level and receives a full benefits package as part of a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Central Processing Certification from HSPA required within one year of hire/date.
• CER or CIS certification through HSPA required for Level 3.
• High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, protect, wrap, containment, peel pack, label and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Print and collect items needed for procedures; issue sterile supplies to hospital areas.
• Perform basic inventory duties and communicate with providers and vendors.
• Perform sterilization tests and record results before equipment is used.
• Verify and issue equipment and maintain sterility for multiple levels (1–3).
• Teach and precept staff on sterile processing best practices.
