Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, TX seeks an entry-level Sterile Processing Technician I to clean, sterilize, and distribute patient equipment, instruments, and supplies. You will support departments by preparing rooms, organizing trays, and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.

The role requires an HS Diploma or GED and less than 1 year of experience. You will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a focus on safety and teamwork, with benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Relational skills to interact with patients and staff.
• Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.
• Relational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies for specified departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectants.
• Operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods. Pulls expired goods. Fills and distributes internal orders.
• Maintains and controls inventory. Maintains applicable records and files.
