Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Sterile Processing Technician for the Central Sterile Supply at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are: 8:00am - 4:00pm , Monday - Friday including alternating weekends; No on-call.


Essential Functions:

  • Operates all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to parameters of sterilization.
  • Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents and lubricants.
  • Correctly peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness and cleanliness.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all FSC policies, procedures and standards and quality of service.
  • Cleans, sets up, sterilizes and distributes instruments as scheduled on each shift.
  • Handles and disposes of infectious waste appropriately.
  • Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, which may include: the use of protective barriers, as appropriate (e.g., gloves, masks, gowns, pocket masks, and/or safety glasses).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program required.
  • Certified Central Service Technician required.
  • Certified Endoscope Repressor (CER) required.

Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience as a sterile processing technician preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience in endoscope reprocessing.
