Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, processing, and distribution of instruments and sterile supplies. You will operate sterilization equipment and maintain compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.

High school diploma required; central sterile coursework preferred. One year of related healthcare experience is preferred. This is an on-site, full-time position with standard hours and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Central Sterile coursework preferred.
• One year of related healthcare experience is preferred.
• Certification in sterile processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Operates and monitors cleaning/sterilization equipment. Maintains records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Other duties as assigned.

Special Skills Required

Ability to read and write necessary to comprehend and follow equipment operating instructions, IFUs and complete required documentation. Basic arithmetic calculations necessary to count instruments and complete count sheets are required. Basic computer, problem-solving and good communication skills are required.
