Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments and supplies at our Froedtert Hospital facility.

Under general supervision, you will operate cleaning/sterilization equipment, maintain records per AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards, and support infection control efforts in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related healthcare experience is preferred.
• Central Sterile coursework preferred.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Operates and monitors cleaning/sterilization equipment. Maintains records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

One year of related healthcare experience is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

EDUCATION PREFERRED

Successful completion of Central Sterile coursework preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Ability to read and write necessary to comprehend and follow equipment operating instructions, IFUs and complete required documentation. Basic arithmetic calculations necessary to count instruments and complete count sheets are required. Basic computer, problem-solving and good communication skills are required.

LICENSURE PREFERRED

Certification-Sterile processing is preferred
