Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Sterilization Technician for the Evening shift in Philadelphia to decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize surgical instrumentation per guidelines.

You will operate automated and cart washers, use the Abacus Instrument Tracking System, and maintain clear communication with internal and external customers while upholding departmental policies.

Qualifications

• Clean, decontaminate, reassemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation per guidelines.
• Operate automated, cart, ultrasonic washers and sterilizers safely per instructions.
• Use the Abacus Instrument Tracking System to assemble trays.
• Demonstrate clear communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer's guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
• Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers' written instructions and department policy and procedure.
• Uses the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in the assembly of surgical trays and peel pouched items.
• Demonstrates good communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, when interacting with internal and external customers.
