Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is hiring a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician to clean, inspect, test, and assemble surgical instruments for sterilization, following Manufacturer's Instructions and hospital policies. You will document all steps in logs or computer systems and prioritize processing tasks across the department.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and prior healthcare exposure.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare related experience, basic knowledge of sterilization processes in a clinical setting preferred.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to operate equipment.
• Frequent: high/mid/low level lift of items weighing around 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow Decontamination, Processing, High Level Disinfection and Sterilization procedures.
• Maintain written logs and/or computer records for processes.
• Prioritize instrumentation for processing and dispatch equipment and supplies.
• On-call responsibilities as required.
