WK Medical Center in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure proper decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of instruments for surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to patient safety, working well in a fast-paced healthcare setting. On-site, full-time day shift with on-call rotation may be required.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology program.
• Sterile processing certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsabilidades

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Prepare instrument trays and procedure sets according to established standards.
• Operate and monitor sterilization and decontamination equipment.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance and quality assurance checks.
• Maintain accurate records related to sterilization processes and equipment testing.
• Ensure adequate inventory of sterile supplies and instrument sets.
• Follow infection prevention, aseptic technique, and safety standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with Surgical Services staff to support patient care needs.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.
