Job summary

Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a PRN role. You will clean, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble sterile instruments, ensuring availability for patient care and sterilization workflows.

The position supports a high-performing team in a fast-paced hospital environment. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience, and Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification (CBSPD/CRCST/CSPDT).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department preferred.
• Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification required (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).
• Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing; knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique required.

• Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment.
• Ensures sterile instruments and equipment are available for use.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and ready for immediate patient care needs.

What You'll Do

• Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment
• Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available
• Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and ready for immediate use in order to support patient care

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
