Research Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will follow safety standards and work under supervision to support safe, high-quality patient care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Under the close supervision of Department Supervisor or Lead Technician, performs all tasks related to the set up, delivery, pickup, decontamination and maintenance of medical equipment, procedure trays and carts; sterilization of supplies and instruments; folding and assembling of linen packs and delivering of supply orders; maintenance of equipment record billing; setting up and removing traction equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of a certificate program or HCA training program in Sterile Processing required within 1 year
• Ability to work as part of a team in an atmosphere that is variable paced low pressure.
• Ability to operate autonomously on a varying set of tasks.
• Requires mobility and ability to move, lift, push, and pull equipment & supplies.
• Basic knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, instruments, and sterile/aseptic technique preferred. Basic keyboard skills are preferable.
• Good interpersonal and problem solving and team building skills are required.
• Certifications (CRSCT or CSPDT) required within 1 year.
