Job summary

The University of Washington Medical Center Montlake CSPD is seeking a Hospital Central Services Technician 2 to decontaminate, sterilize and assemble complex surgical instrument trays for procedures in a fast-paced environment. This full-time evening shift supports 24/7 operations in a major academic medical center and offers comprehensive benefits.

Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of instrument processing experience, or an equivalent combination of education

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent.
One to two years of experience processing complex trays of surgical instruments and equipment.
Equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, process, sterilize and assemble complex arrangements of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures.
Prioritize instruments, equipment and supplies based on surgical schedules.
Identify and sort contaminated instruments and equipment.
Disassemble and reassemble items with multiple parts.
Recognize dissembled parts and reassemble or return to trays.
Determine and use appropriate decontamination procedures.
Disassemble and decontaminate equipment using approved cleaners.
Collect and dispose of biohazardous waste materials.
Inspect, test, reassemble, package, label and date instrumentation.
