Minimum Qualifications

One of the below certifications:

• Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution
• CRCST from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
• SPDT from The Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
• Two years Central sterile technician experience supporting complex surgical and clinical services in a similar setting; Or a combination of required certification and relevant experience, training and demonstrated skills may be considered qualifying.
• Six (6) months experience in a patient care environment.
• Experience handling hospital equipment.

Department Description

The Central Processing unit supports 32 operating rooms by cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing surgical instrumentation and equipment, flexible and rigid scopes, and case-picking equipment. The unit also supports Patient Care Services and the Primary Care Network by cleaning and disinfecting reusable equipment and sterilizing surgical instrumentation used by these services.

The unit manages fiscal, material, and human resources to support the planning and coordination of surgical care and other patient care in the hospital and clinics.

• Salary or Pay Range: $31.33 - $38.96

• Shift Hours: M-F 2230-0700, 12hr Shift - Sun, Thu & Sat 18:30 - 07:00; and 8hrs every other Fri (2nd) 2230 - 07:00, 12hr Shift - Sun, Tue & Sat 18:30 - 07:00; and 8hrs every other Mon(1st) 22:30 - 07:00
