Responsibilities for the Sterile Processing Technician II include cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, sterilizing, and assembling surgical instruments and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Certification from the Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CRCST or CSPDT)
2. Maintenance of certification through CEUs and renewal as a condition of employment
3. Two years of central sterile technician experience supporting complex surgical services, or relevant combination of certification and experience
4. Six months experience in a patient care environment
5. Experience handling hospital equipment
6. Knowledge of AAMI practices and AORN recommended practices
7. Attention to detail, quality, and timeliness
8. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
9. Proficiency with computer programs including instrument tracking, email, spreadsheets, and word processing
10. Ability to apply policies, report problems, and escalate issues appropriately
11. Effective planning, organizing, prioritizing, and communication skills
12. Self-motivated and capable of working independently
13. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Department Overview

Central Processing supports over 40 operating rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments, scopes, and case carts. It also supports other hospital services, manages supplies, and ensures operational efficiency.

• Salary: $32.27 - $40.13 hourly

• Shift: 14:30-23:00
