Geisinger Medical Center Muncy is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our clinical team. The role supports cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, packaging, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment in a safety-conscious environment.

Eligible candidates can receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus and up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse, with additional up to $3 per-hour shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer a Sterile Processing Technician a $1,500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!

Job Duties

Responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and sterility to prevent infection within a healthcare facility, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols established by regulatory agencies. Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination. Manually cleaning supplies of contaminants, removing waste matter, and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment. Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization. Monitoring and operating sterilization equipment. Acts as a preceptor new employees. Examining supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized. Testing and reporting any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment. Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures. Preparing and delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures, and medical carts. Maintaining records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies. Controlling the inventory, reordering supplies, and checking expiration dates. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details
