Job summary

Compass Surgical Partners’ Middleburg Surgery Center in Middleburg, FL is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician. You will clean, sterilize, assemble instrument trays, and maintain sterile supplies to support safe, efficient operating room care.

This full-time on-site role offers a stable schedule Monday–Friday, with no nights or on-call, and an opportunity to contribute to a growing ambulatory surgery center focused on clinical excellence and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience in sterile processing is required.
• CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification preferred or ability to obtain within 18 months.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, sterilize, and package instruments and equipment according to standards
• Assemble instrument trays and maintain accurate labeling and storage
• Operate sterilizers, washers, and related equipment safely and effectively
• Monitor and maintain sterile supply inventory; check for outdated or compromised items
• Support patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives
• Communicate effectively with teammates, physicians, and other staff
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant sterile processing work area

Role Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and storing surgical instruments and equipment. This role ensures the operating team has the tools needed for safe, effective patient care, directly supporting the perioperative process and overall patient safety

Hours

• Monday–Friday schedule, Full Time
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in sterile processing required

• Current BLS certification
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
• Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and sterilization equipment in a fast-paced environment
