QuarterLine, a PSI company at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician with 3+ years SPD experience and certifications CRCST/CSPDT, plus BLS. Sterile Processing Technician

Location: US‑HI‑Honolulu. Job ID: 2026‑11567.

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) continuous years of recent experience working as a sterile processing technician in an SPD setting, with at least one year occurring within the last year. They should possess diverse sterile processing experience including instrument decontamination, assembly and preparation, and sterilization, and must be able to operate and troubleshoot all processing equipment (washer‑disinfectors, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, automatic endoscope reprocessors). Knowledge of the following surgical instrument specialties is required: general surgery, urology, robotics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, eye surgery, ENT, GYN, vascular, and orthopedic surgery.

Job Responsibilities
  • Duty Location: Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI. No telework allowed.
  • Duty Hours:
    • Hours may include shift work: rotating 8, 10, 12‑hour and part‑time shifts, 7 days per week including nights, weekends and federal holidays. Work will not exceed 12 hours in a 24‑hour period and 80 hours in a consecutive 14‑day period.
    • Available shift schedule:
      • 1st Shift: 0645‑1515
      • 2nd Shift: 1045‑1915
      • 3rd Shift: 1445‑2315
      • 4th Shift: 2245‑0715
  • The contract Sterile Processing Technician shall perform duties similar to those of a military operating room technician or Government Civil Service Sterile Processing Technician of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.
  • Instrument decontamination, assembly and sterilization across multiple surgical specialties.
  • Prepare instrumentation and supplies for surgery using various sterilization methods.
  • Monitor and track surgical instruments using the automated instrument tracking system.
  • Maintain record keeping for all sterilization processes.
  • Check expiration dates on all sterile supply items, remove outdated items, and rotate stock on a first‑in, first‑out basis.
  • Maintain and restock CPR cart exchange program and transport CPR carts in emergency situations.
  • Assemble and disassemble instrumentation and equipment per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Perform daily and weekly cleanings and function testing of all equipment.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of 68D students, new employees, medical interns, nursing students, residents, and other medical training program participants provided by TAMC.
  • Assist in training staff members and 68D students in the operation of sterile processing equipment, handling and assembling instruments and sets, and procedures for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization.
  • Carry paging and other electronic communication devices used by operating room personnel.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree/Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certifications:
    • Completion of a sterile processing/supply training course.
    • CRCST – Certified Registered Central Service Technician (issued by HSPA).
    • CSPDT – Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (issued by CBSPD).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (web‑based classes not accepted by the Government).
  • Experience: 3 continuous years (at least one year within the last year) in an SPD setting.
  • Legal Authorization: U.S. Citizen.
Additional Information
  • Occupational Health: Documentation of required physical testing or a report of a physical examination is required.
  • Tuberculosis Screening: Contract workers shall be screened for TB.
  • Health Requirements: Documentation certifying immunizations, annual vaccinations, and physical examination when required at initial placement.
