Job summary

HiredFirst in Rochester, NY (14642) is seeking a Full-Time Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. Typical schedule is 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with potential early starts or late shifts, and travel may be required.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years of sterile processing experience, and a Certified Sterile Processor credential (HSPA or CBSPD). OR/Med-Surg experience is preferred to support instrument reprocessing and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess, assemble, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment following sterile technique and manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensure proper care, handling, and quality assurance of instruments and equipment.
• Document instrument usage and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in continuous education and training in sterile processing procedures.
• Pick, distribute, and monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Conduct biological and chemical testing to ensure decontamination quality.
• Support clinical staff with assistive and patient advocacy duties.
