Job summary

HiredFirst in New York is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays. This night-shift role is 40 hours per week, with weekends and holidays as needed.

You will operate steam sterilizers, perform quality checks, manage inventory, and support OR teams. Requirements include HSPA or CBSPD certification, BLS, 3 years sterile processing experience, large-hospital background, 6 months travel, and two references.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (HSPA or CBSPD): Required
• Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience
• BLS (AHA only): Required
• Large hospital experience (500+ beds) required
• Minimum 6 months travel experience required
• Two professional references (from recent assignments) required

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays
• Operate sterilization equipment (steam sterilizers, washers, HLD systems)
• Perform quality assurance checks and maintain accurate documentation
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and proper assembly
• Manage inventory, stock supplies, and support OR and clinical units
