Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure every instrument is cleaned, sterilized and ready for surgeries. The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail and teamwork with nurses and surgeons in a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on daily schedule
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to support smooth, efficient surgeries

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, youll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPT) Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
