Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will work closely with nurses and surgeons to support safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and timely servicing of instrument trays and rooms, with CSPDT or CSPT certification required within 2 years of employment and high school completion essential.

Qualifications

• CSPDT or CSPT certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.
• Prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or (CSPT) Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
• Previous experience preferred
