Job summary

Eisenhower Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for the Urology Clinic. Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or higher level degree.
• CRCST certification within one year and CER certification within one year.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Three years of sterile processing experience; Urology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and address compliance concerns.
• Coordinate instrument turnaround with Urology staff.
• Oversee daily BIO testing to ensure sterility of trays and instruments.
• Disassemble/assemble instrumentation correctly.
• Maintain temperature logs and quality checks.
• Collaborate with Infection Prevention and Risk Management as needed.
• Store and inventory sterile supplies properly.
• Assemble surgical carts per transport slips and inventory lists.
• Maintain par levels and order supplies for SP and PPE.
• Operate and maintain decontamination equipment.
• Inspect instrumentation for contamination and confirm readiness for use.
• Receive, sort, and inspect instrumentation in decontamination area.
• Follow manufacturer's dilution guidelines for all chemicals.
• Follow tray inventory control sheets for sets.
• Identify proper sterilization packaging and QC indicators.
• Perform diagnostic/biological tests on sterilization equipment as required.
• Provide staff training on processing, sterilization and quality checks.
• Maintain Sterrad maintenance parameters and IFU documentation.
• Update IFUs in the One Source tracking system.
• Work with vendors on quotes, RMA and shipping of equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
