Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking candidates for the Sterile Processing Technician Program in the Olathe area. Students will work under supervision to develop decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization and storage skills, while providing high-quality customer service to health system staff and patients.

The program starts January 19, 2027 with a Monday-Friday shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a neat, clutter free and clean work environment.
• Demonstrates proper hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation principles.
• Decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within appropriate guidelines/policies/procedures.
• Demonstrates high levels of quality control by following departmental policies/procedures and thorough documentation of sterilization process.
• Effectively prioritizes and communicates customer needs within the department and with external customers.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Understands and identifies instrumentation and equipment utilized in all customer areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager, Faculty or Leadership.
