Job summary

Stormont Vail Health seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare, assemble, clean and sterilize instrumentation and some equipment used in surgical and clinical procedures. You will ensure sterilization processes are followed and that instruments and supplies are safe for reuse across patient care.

The role requires experience in an acute care hospital setting; preferred experience in surgery environments and sterile processing.

Qualifications

• Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Sterile processing experience preferred.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CR CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of chemicals, detergents, and other cleaning and/or disinfecting agents used in the department.
• Assembles trays and peel packs with correct contents, labeling, and sterilization methods.
• Performs steam and Sterrad sterilization and maintains decontamination practices according to MIFU and safety protocols.

Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview The Sterile Processing Technician, is a health care professional who will be responsible for preparing, assembling, cleaning and sterilizing all instrumentation and some equipment used in medical exams, surgeries and other clinical procedures. They will ensure strict adherence to sterilization processes and assure that instruments, equipment, and supplies are safe for reuse across patient care. The Sterile Processing Technician must demonstrate the ability to perform at a high level of skill all functions as described below.
