Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a PRN opportunity. The role focuses on cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments to ensure safe and efficient surgeries. You will collaborate with nurses and surgeons to support timely, high-quality care.

Required are a high school diploma and certification (CRCST or CSPDT) within two years. Evening hours Monday through Friday provide structured part-time scheduling.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate / GED required.
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
  • Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver safe, high-quality care.
  • Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
  • Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
  • Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
  • Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
  • Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
  • Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
  • Monday thru Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm PRN
