Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Park, FL is seeking a PRN Sterile Processing Technician for day shift. You will receive, clean, sterilize, inspect instruments and equipment, and support nursing units.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree preferred, and holds CSPDT/CRCST or BLS preferred certifications. Responsibilities include maintaining sterilization records, verifying item quantities, and ensuring proper sterilization effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical/Vocational School preferred.
• Previous sterile processing technician experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery, anesthesia, and nursing units.
• Prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment appropriately.
• Inspects all instruments and equipment for damages, malfunction, or unacceptable condition.
• Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by verifying correct items and quantities.
• Assures proper sterilization procedures are performed and the effectiveness of the sterilizing process.
• Maintains required records on sterilization and tracks equipment and instruments issued to nursing units.
