Job summary

OrthoVirginia Inc in Virginia is seeking a PRN Sterile Processing Technician to support our orthopedic surgical team in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. This role offers part-time hours, typically 1–2 days per week, ideal for someone looking to keep sterile processing skills sharp while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

You will decontaminate, clean, and sterilize instruments, assemble trays, operate sterilizers and ultrasonic washers, and help maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare, organize, and stage surgical instrument trays and case carts for scheduled procedures.
  • Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other sterile processing equipment while monitoring quality indicators.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and proper assembly before sterilization.
  • Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels of surgical instruments and sterile supplies to ensure readiness for patient care.
  • Transport sterile instruments and supplies to operating and procedure rooms.
  • Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a clean, organized sterile processing department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
