Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. We have 6 OR rooms and 2 Treatment rooms for outpatient procedures across ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, and more.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician is required.
• Experience with operating room instrumentation is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization methods and track records is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize surgical instrumentation and sets for procedures.
• Prepare and set up operating room trays and supplies.
• Record keeping and reporting related to sterile processing.
• Ensure proper operation of steam/ gravity and Sterrad sterilizers.

We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Spine, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Required Skills

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2-3 years' experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
