Job summary

The UVA Community Health Central Supply Technician role supports clean, properly packaged sterile instruments and supplies for multiple departments. You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, label, and stock items while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

You'll document processes, monitor sterilizers, and assist with quality monitoring and education to ensure readiness for surgical and other procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department preferred.
• Sterile Processing Tech certification required (CBSPD/CRCST/CSPDT).

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, decontaminate, package, label, and sterilize instruments.
• Stock and replenish supplies and equipment; notify need for new items.
• Document cleaning and sterilization processes per standards.
• Maintain knowledge of specialty instruments; participate in quality monitoring.
• Assist in surgical operations as needed.
