Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to work the night shift at the Hillcrest clinic on a per diem basis. Responsibilities include sterilizing and assembling surgical instruments and ensuring readiness for procedures, with regular inventory duties.

The role requires two years of recent sterile processing experience, BART or BLS at hire, and willingness to obtain BART within six months. The schedule is nights, 8-hour shifts, including Sundays and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must have two (2) years of recent experience in a similar role and setting.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Knowledge of effective inventory storage and retrieval practices; sterilization processes of surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize and assemble instrumentation and equipment for surgery and exams per regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure instrumentation and equipment are sterilized and ready; maintain records.
• Assist with ordering and procurement of equipment and instrumentation as needed.
