Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a part-time Sterile Processing Technologist at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. You will clean, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and reusable equipment, assemble trays, and support the surgical teams to ensure patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of sterile processing; certification within a designated timeframe may be considered.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of surgical instrumentation preferred.
• Prior experience in sterile processing or healthcare support roles is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain certification within a designated timeframe may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, and test reusable medical equipment and surgical instruments for proper function and cleanliness.
• Identify and report defects or concerns in instrumentation.
• Assemble instrument trays and equipment according to established procedures and standards.
• Operate sterilization equipment and follow protocols to ensure proper sterilization of supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and inventory.
• Provide timely and efficient sterile supply services to departments across the medical center.
• Uphold infection prevention standards and contribute to a safe surgical environment.
