Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY is seeking a Part-Time Sterile Processing Technician to support the Sterile Processing Dept. You will process, sterilize, and distribute sterile goods to hospital staff to enable safe procedures.

Shifts are evenings (4p-8p, 5p-9p, 6p-10p) Mon-Fri with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication within a team environment.

Responsabilités

SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday; Varied 4p-8p / 5p-9p / 6p-10p

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processing. Responsible for processing and supplying sterile goods and equipment to all areas within the hospital, including decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution
• Sterilization. Ensure appropriate supplies are used in the process of sterilizing items; collect and clean soiled equipment, machines, carts and shelves
• Distribution. Transport needed supplies, medication and equipment throughout the hospital

Requirements:

• Qualifies through one of the following:
  • Credentialed: Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds and maintains one of the following credentials:
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential
    • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credential
  • Hard to Fill Clause: A healthcare facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a Sterile Processing Technician if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified Sterile Processing Technicians
  • Grand-fathering Clause: Must provide evidence of employment or contract services as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy - This category includes physically intensive work such as lifting heavy materials (up to 100 lbs.), climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces. Employees must demonstrate strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment. High visual and auditory alertness is required, especially in areas with moving machinery. Emotional demands are moderate, focusing on hazard recognition, task accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Environmental exposures may include extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and periodic physical examinations are often required.

• CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)

PAY RANGE:

$20.75 - $25.00
