Job summary

Peachtree Orthopedics in Cumming, GA is seeking an Instrument Technician to support the Ambulatory Surgery Center/Surgical Services. You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and store instruments, ensuring readiness for scheduled and emergent procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining regulatory compliance, performing QA monitoring, and training new staff. Requires HS diploma and Sterile Processing experience; BLS is preferred. Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments, supplies, and equipment per policies.
• Clean, assemble, wrap, sterilize, and store instrument trays.
• Coordinate instrument sharpening and repair schedules with supervisor.
• Perform biological and chemical monitoring per QA standards.
• Maintain recordkeeping for Central Processing and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Infection Prevention and leadership for accreditation readiness.
• Review daily surgical schedule and stage instruments for procedures.
• Demonstrate proper technique and safe operation of equipment.
• Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials safely.
• Adhere to POSC procedures; manage assigned areas.
• Train and onboard new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
