Job summary

Ridges Surgery Center in Burnsville, MN, seeks a skilled SPD Technician to ensure sterile processing of general and specialty instruments. You will decontaminate, assemble, package, sterilize, and maintain accurate logs in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

This role requires completion of a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and national SPD/CST certification, plus mechanical aptitude and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and BLS certification required.
• National certification as SPD Technician, Certified Registered Central Service Technician or Surgical Instrument Processor required or eligible for exam.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and strong organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and packages instruments per protocol; prepares replacement parts requests as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment; follows PPE and infection control procedures.
• Identifies and ensures proper function of instruments; repairs or replaces as needed.
• Operates steam autoclaves, ETO and Gas Plasma sterilizers; maintains records and logs.
• Responds to OR requests, prioritizes instrumentation needs, and supports timely OR readiness.
