Job summary

Kaleida Health's Buffalo General Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilization of surgical instruments for Surgical Services and all departments. You will coordinate with OR staff to provide timely sterile products and case carts, maintaining smooth workflow between OR and Sterile Processing.

Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program or Surgical Tech/OR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Technician program or Surgical Tech/OR program or 1 year experience in Sterile Processing required.
• Certification must be obtained within the specified timelines (CRCST/CSPDT/CST) or grandfathered as applicable; continuing education credits annually are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Provide timely sterile products, trays and case carts in collaboration with OR staff.
• Maintain consistent workflow between OR and Sterile Processing while delivering above-average customer service.
