McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Oregon is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech Lead - Instrument Coordinator to oversee operations in the sterile processing department and support OR readiness.

The role leads a team, ensures instruments are decontaminated, sterilized, and ready per PAR levels, and coordinates surgeon cases daily. This is an SEIU Local 49 represented position with a competitive hourly base rate of $23.96–$30.07.

Qualifications

  • CRCST certification is required.
  • 10 years of Sterile Processing experience required.
  • CIS certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute supplies and equipment for patient care areas and Operating Rooms.
  • Count and replenish processed supplies based on PAR levels and surgical cases.
  • Decontaminate, repack, sterilize, and return instruments to storage or use next.
  • Assist in training newly hired technicians.
  • Receive, document, and distribute loaner instrumentation.
  • Coordinate surgeon and patient-specific cases daily.
  • Communicate with vendor reps and coordinate drop-off/pick-up of instrumentation per policies.

Job Summary
  • The Sterile Processing Technician Lead - Instrument Coordinator prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms.
  • Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location.
  • Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use.
  • The Sterile Processing Technician Lead - Instrument Coordinator will also assist in training newly hired technicians.
  • Receive, document, and distribute loaner instrumentation.
  • Coordinate surgeon and patient specific cases on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with vendor reps and coordinate drop off/pick up of instrumentation per policies.
Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through HSPA or other recognized or accredited program required.
  • 10 years Sterile Processing experience required.
  • CIS strongly preferred.
