Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterile instruments and decontaminated equipment for patients of all ages under supervision. Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing instruments, testing equipment, and documenting sterilization records.

The role requires knowledge of sterilization procedures, ability to follow written instructions, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology essential.
• Certification recommended within two years of employment.
• De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)

Responsibilities

• Provide sterile instruments and decontaminated equipment for patients of all ages.
• Test, operate and monitor sterilization equipment and document sterilization records.
• Assemble surgical supplies and wrap/repack instruments as required.
• Order patient equipment and supplies and report patient charge inquiries.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and ensure compliance with policies.
