Job summary

Duly Health Lombard is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with AAMI standards. The role ensures equipment readiness for the OR, manages inventory, and performs essential sterilization validation and record-keeping.

The position requires certification in Sterile Processing, 2 years' experience, and current BCLS. Join a team focused on safety, accuracy, and efficient OR support in Lombard, IL.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Instrument technician experience, 2 years or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and principles of sterilization.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Care for and prepare surgical instruments according to AAMI standards.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies for the area.
• Test sterilizers and keep sterilization logs.
• Organize time, equipment, and supplies for the OR based on daily schedule.
• Perform cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization using steam, Sterrad, Steris, and endoscope reprocessors.
• Ensure instruments are accounted for upon receipt from the OR.
• Assist in cleaning and turnover of OR rooms between cases.
