Job summary

Ridges Surgery Center in Burnsville, MN seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure proper care and handling of general and specialty instruments. You will decontaminate, assemble, package, and sterilize using autoclave, ETO or gas plasma, while maintaining logs and supporting the operating room with timely instrument availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS certification required.
• Current national SPD technician certification or CRST/certification preferred.
• Experience in instrument decontamination and packaging.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and packages instruments according to dept. protocol.
• Operates sterilizers and maintains sterilization logs.
• Identifies instruments and ensures proper function; assists OR with instrumentation requests.
• Maintains infection control practices and PPE protocols.
• Responds to OR requests to prioritize instrumentation and equipment.
