Job summary

CentraCare Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to ensure clean, sterile instruments for surgeries. You will decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize tools, prepare instrument trays, and operate tracking systems while maintaining safety and infection prevention standards.

We offer full-time evening shifts (8-hour, 2:30 pm–11 pm), competitive pay starting at $23.76/hour with a range up to $35.64, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year working in a Sterile Processing Department.
• Experience with Sterile Processing Technician role (Tech II) preferred.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll help ensure caregivers have the tools they need to deliver exceptional care—all while working alongside a supportive team and enjoying incredible views of the Mississippi River.

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician with or without certification.

We are only considering applications with experience to qualify for the Tech II role. (Minimum of 1 year working in a Sterile Processing Department).

What you will do:

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Prepare instrument trays for surgeries and procedures
• Operate sterilization and instrument tracking systems
• Maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention standards
• Support caregivers throughout the health system by ensuring critical equipment is available when needed

Schedule:

• Evening Shifts | 8-hour shifts | 2:30 pm to 11 pm
• Full-time | 72-80 Hours every two weeks
• Occasional weekends, and holidays rotate as needed.

Pay and Benefits (Total Rewards)

• Wage rates (Tech II) start at $23.76 per hour, offering more with experience.
  • Full pay range for this position is $23.76 - $35.64 hourly
• Shift Differential Pay: + $1.50/hour between 3 pm & 11 pm.
• Weekend shift differential is + $1.05 per hour when occurring.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Expect 8-hour shifts of standing/walking.
• Be able to push/pull up to 75lbs, lift up to 25lbs routinely.
• Frequent needs for reaching, bending, squatting, crouching.
• Able to tolerate heat while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Is able to work in an environment with frequent noises, alerts, and disruptions.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED graduate or equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in healthcare preferred.
• Requires little or no prior relevant training or work experience.
• The ability to understand detailed technical instruction for surgical instrumentation and equipment.
