Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to join the team. You will prepare instruments, sterilize equipment, and support the OR with timely, sterile supplies in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires CRCST certification, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work days or nights, with weekends as needed. Locations across Missouri offer opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
• Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
• Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Transports patients with any necessary materials and documents to treat or diagnose.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Function as a team member in the operating room to support medical and nursing staff during the pre, intra, and post-operative phase, including preparing equipment and supplies for use by the medical team, cleaning and sterilizing equipment and reusable supplies, assembling case carts/trays and performing direct patient care as needed.

Responsibilities
