Harris Health seeks a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, store and distribute surgical instruments and equipment according to established standards. The role supports indirect patient care and responds to customer and provider requests.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of central sterile processing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and certification options CRCST/CSPDT/CBSPD within one year. Weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Central Service Technology course or equivalent work experience (at least 1 year in central sterile processing).
• Hold one of CRCST, CSPDT, or CBSPD certifications or obtain within 1 year of hire.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities covers decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an in-direct patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.

Education

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• (AND) Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)

License & Certifications

Hold one of the following certifications or obtain within one year of hire: CRCST, CSPDT, or CBSPD

Work Experience

One (1) year of Central Sterile Processing experience required.

Communication Skills

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)

Bilingual Skills Preferred

Writing/Reports (Legible handwriting and coherent writing)
