Job summary

The SP Tech II demonstrates professional effectiveness in an indirect patient care setting and supports the needs of the customer or provider.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, Central Services Tech course or equivalent, and one year of CST

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Central Service Technology course or equivalent work experience (at least 1 year in central sterile processing).
• Hold CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD or CRM certification or obtain within one year of hire.
• 1 year of Central Sterile Processing experience required.
• Communication skills: above average verbal, bilingual may be preferred, writing/reports ability.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminating surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assembling, sterilizing, storing and distributing items per standards.
• Assist in addressing customer/provider requests in a fast-paced setting.
• Monitor and interpret results of gauges and equipment in the sterile area.
